Bethesda pool owners are no strangers to what a demanding Maryland summer looks like. The established neighborhoods of Edgemoor, Battery Park, and Bradley Hills sit under a canopy of mature oaks and maples that deposit heavy debris loads from the moment pollen season breaks in March through the final leaf drop in November. Rock Creek Park borders much of the eastern side of Bethesda and drives humidity persistently upward through the peak summer months, creating water chemistry conditions that shift faster and require more careful management than in more open suburban settings. Many of the pools in this community were built in the 1960s and 1970s, meaning equipment age is a real factor that adds complexity to every service season. And the high standards Bethesda homeowners bring to every aspect of their properties extend to their pools without question.
That is where Potomac Pool Service comes in. As a pool service company serving Northern Virginia and the Maryland suburbs since 2003, we understand Bethesda pools and what they demand. Whether your pool is in an established neighborhood near the Chevy Chase border, along the River Road corridor, or closer to the Kenwood area, we approach your service plan with the same level of detail and expertise that this community expects.
When you need a pool service company in Bethesda that meets the standards of an exacting community, delivers results on every visit, and communicates clearly about your pool’s condition, Potomac Pools is the right fit. Here is what makes us different:
As your local pool care experts in Bethesda, we deliver the full range of services needed to keep your pool clean, properly maintained, and protected through every phase of the year.
Bethesda’s dense tree canopy makes consistent, frequent upkeep critical. Our team handles thorough skimming, vacuuming, brushing, filter maintenance, and precise water chemistry testing on a schedule that accounts for the organic load and humidity your pool operates under from spring through fall.
We manage both seasonal transitions entirely. Our Spring Opening service prepares your pool for use as the weather warms across Montgomery County, and our Fall Winterization service closes it down correctly to protect equipment and surfaces through the winter months.
Older Bethesda pools frequently experience equipment wear that catches homeowners off guard. Our professional pool repair services in Bethesda diagnose problems accurately on the first inspection and resolve them efficiently so your pool returns to full operation without unnecessary delays.
When a Bethesda pool reaches the point where renovation is the right investment, our team handles every aspect: full resurfacing, tile and coping replacement, plumbing updates, equipment modernization, and deck restoration to the standard this neighborhood demands.
Saltwater system conversions, variable-speed pump installations, and modern filtration technology all deliver better water quality at lower operating costs than the older systems found in many Bethesda-area pools

Reliable swimming pool maintenance in Bethesda has to account for the full combination of pressures this community’s environment creates. The Rock Creek watershed elevates ambient humidity on the eastern neighborhoods through much of July and August, which accelerates chemistry drift and increases algae risk. The heavy spring pollen season from Bethesda’s established hardwood canopy places a significant load on filters that need more frequent servicing during those peak weeks. And older pool equipment in the area’s established properties requires careful monitoring to catch wear patterns before they become failures. Our team manages all of these variables proactively so your pool performs reliably all season without demanding constant attention from you.
Whether you need weekly pool maintenance in Bethesda from opening to closing or a more flexible service arrangement, Potomac Pools builds the plan around your property and schedule.
High standards and competitive pricing are not mutually exclusive. Our affordable pool service in Bethesda is built on transparent packages with no hidden fees and no billing surprises at the end of the season. Every plan is clearly defined before work begins, and individual services are available for homeowners who need specific care without a full seasonal program.

We trust Potomac Pools with our comprehensive pool projects and with our summer weekly pool servicing. Melanie was very easy to work with and was extremely responsive throughout a big renovation project. It was definitely refreshing to hire a local family-owned business. We are extremely satisfied with the results, and the project was completed on time and on budget.
I used to do my own maintenance but decided to give Potomac a try a couple of years ago and have been absolutely delighted with the service ever since. They are professional, on top of things, do great work and have a wonderful team. They are certainly leading the industry in quality and service and keep my pool sparkling clean.
Excellent service, friendly staff, very fair price, and more." The technician showed up on time, worked efficiently, and when he was done, he made sure the area was cleaned up. He then stood with me and educated me about what I might need to do over the winter. I will definitely use them again and highly recommend this company.
